There is a built in ad blocker in Mozilla Firefox where you can right click an image and then select block all images from this server. But I must say I am not impressed by this solution. But luckily there are some people who saw an opportunity in building a powerful ad blokker for Mozilla. It's called AdBlock and you can find it here http://adblock.mozdev.org/ You can also check the AdBlock forum http://aasted.org/adblock/index.php
I have seen people using some filters on the AdBlock extension. But I don't use these advanced features. When there are some ads that annoy me I simply right click that ad -> and select AdBlock Image. You can also remove flash banners with this extension.
A few ads is no problem for me but when some sites start to use blinking flash banners it's time to take action. AdBlock is the answer.
I have one tip to this extension: Ctrl + shift + b is a shortcut to turn AdBlock on or off. Remember to refresh the site afterwards. |
