Some sites are available in multiple languages and automatically switch to your preferred language. If you want to try this out you need to:
type about:config in in the address bar make a filter for lang double click intl.accept_languages
It is normally set up to: en-us, en . So when af site has several languages it will first try American English and then English. I have set it up so a page should first try Danish when possible. Here is how I have set it up
//As you can see you need to use the country code//. EDIT: I found out that you need a language code. So i have changed it from dk to da for Danish. This way Livejournal.com provides a Danish site. If you think about it this makes sense, some countries like Belgium and Switzerland have more than one language. You can see the codes here: New Site http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/IG/ert/iso639.htm (sorry about all the confusion)
You can test the feature here http://www.livejournal.com try for example to set it up to [de, en-us, en] You will then get a German LiveJournal site.
Another site to check is the new European Mozilla Site http://www.mozilla-europe.org They have support for German, English, French and Spanish. |
